What is a CMY Cube?
In the 1960s, American artist, Vasa Mihich, developed techniques for working with coloured forms based on simple Euclidean shapes.
With an advanced understanding of optical complexities, Vasa has become, in the words of Henry Seldis, former art critic of The Los Angeles Times, "the most sensuous and sensational colorist of the southern California artists working in plastic." His work was included in the seminal exhibition American Sculpture of the Sixties at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1967 and in other museums and university exhibits.
These Vasa inspired CMY Cube use primary colours Cyan, Magenta & Yellow (CMY) and are created to help view life & light through a different lens.
To completely appreciate and experience these cubes, hold the cube before light or dip it into a sunbeam to bathe the room in a shifting spectrum of colour.
